Shortly information about press conferences and other press activities that will happen during the WC-week from the 28th of May until the 3rd june this summer.
And a short survey over everything that happens during WC in Cooperation is presented. For additional information about the different parts, please click on the headlines.
The welcoming in the city districts the 28th of May
All foreign guests is welcomed by Stockholms WC-participating district councils in co-operation on the city hall´s courtyard. After the registration they all leave togheter to the different host schools in Stockholms different districts where they during 2 days has commonly activities och prepare the parade.
The four parades the 31 of may
The youths and the kids brings their three dimensionell presentations in four large parades, starting from the Vasapark; Medborgarplatsen; Galärparken and the Rålambshovspark. The parades meets on the bridges and on the sides around Norrström.
The opening of the WC in co-operation the 31 of may.
The performance Our Uniting Water invites children from all the world to bring a bowl of water from an area witch they care about. Boats brings the children to a chrystal bowl on a stage in the middle of Strömmen. The performance also includes dans, singing, multislide presentation and music from all over the world.
The seminar "What we do today becomes the childrens future" 31 of may until 2 june
On the seminar that takes place on the Conserthouse, The Globe and on Riksplan politicians and civil servants from the participating city districts and local authorities in Sweden and the world. Well-reputated lecturer gives inspiration in learning to think on new lines entirely and to teach from childrens and concrete tools to go from thought to action.
Future building the 1- 2 of june
The three dimensionell visualizations the children has shown in the parades are placed on Riksplan. There all of the participants will build their installations. Before the childrens will leave the buildning they will write widhnotes to the "Nightbuilders" - the decision-makers, youths, where they tell how they would like the building to continue during the night.
The meeting between the childrens and the nightbuilders the 2 of june
The childrens and the night builders meets and get to know each other in the morning and continues the buildning.
The guiding of specially invited guests the 2 of june
Ambassadors, the chairman of the Swedish Parliament, ministers, astronauts, cosmonauts and director-generals from State-owned departments gets a special guiding from the children in the future building.
The grand finale in the Globe; goldmedals, goldkeys, WC-relay and the finale-disco the 2 of june.
In WC in co-operation all competitours will become world champions and gets a goldmedal. The decision-makers whom participated in the Mayors’ Meeting in the City Hall of Stockholm gets goldkeys and reads upp a promise about the future. A WC-relay is handed over from Stockholm to Kampala in Uganda who arrange WC in co-operation 2008. The worlds first WC in co-operation closes - according to the chidrens wish - with a huge disco in the Globe.
