City of Stockholm will act as host |
|
The city of Stockholm is graciously acting as host for the World Championship in Cooperation, organised by Globetree.
The participants will arrive in Stockholm on Sunday, May 28th. Once the participants register, they will receive the program, a badge, information material and a rucksack. There will be music and performances.
The welcome ceremony of the World Championship in Cooperation is held under the oak in the yard of the City Hall. The oak was inaugurated in the spring 2006, chosen as the Children’s Meeting Place. Here, under the tree, decision-makers of the town listen to and answer questions from children and youth.
The Children’s Treasure Chest During the day the Lord Mayor of Stockholm, Mr. Barry Andersson, welcomes two children as representatives from each community, district and country to put their contributions into The Children’s Treasure Chest. It was during the Stockholm millennium celebration that the old treasure chest in the Stockholm City Hall was renamed, The Children’s Treasure Chest, to hold the children's thoughts, ideas and visions about the future...to treasure and read again in 100 years and in 1000 years’ time.
The hosts for the participants
The city districts of Stockholm and three communities nearby will act as hosts, welcoming our foreign guests.
After the registration the guests and the hosts go together to the city districts where they, during two days, will get to know each other during workshops and as they prepare for the Parade. Many participants may already have made some preparations for the Parade, but might want to complete their streamers, instruments, rattles or maybe build something together to show the others. They will also take the first step in building the Future Vessel.
These two days of bonding between guests and hosts recognizes that it is at home that the most important things are happening...and at home is directly related to the larger world.
A strong support All the political parties support the first World Championship in Cooperation held in Stockholm and its environs in the beginning of June 2006.
This creates a solid platform for the project. During the period 2004-2006 the town of Stockholm makes a provision of five millions for the local establishment in the 18 districts of Stockholm.
